GED Testing Centers

Want to take the GED test but have no idea where to go? Finding a GED testing center has never been so easy. With more than thirty-thousand and four hundred testing centers around the world, there is bound to be a testing center near each person who wants to take the GED test. By law, the GED test must be administered personally, so people who want to earn their GED must take the exam at a testing center. Sites that claim you can take the GED test online are a scam.

To find a GED testing center near you, all you need to do is visit www.gedtesting.org. Directly on the front page of that site, there will be many links for various types of information regarding GED test takers, and one of those links should say “Locate Testing Center”. After clicking on the link, you will be redirected to a page in which you are prompted to enter your zip code, and a list of GED testing centers near your location will appear. Not only is the address and phone of each center is displayed on the list, but there is also a direct link to a MapQuest web page that shows where the center is located on a map. This way, you can enter your own address and immediately find out if the distance and route to any specific testing center is convenient for you. To actually register for the test at that location, you will be required to contact the testing center. Some testing centers provide an online registration service, but otherwise, you will need to inquire about the GED test through their phone or email.

When deciding on a testing center, one should keep in mind that different locations have different policies regarding the GED test. While some testing centers are more flexible and allow test takers to take the portions of the GED test over the course of several days, other testing centers are stricter and require the test to be completed in one sitting. The whole GED is approximately seven hours long, so it is very easy for a person to become mentally exhausted while trying to complete the whole test at once. Thus, test takers should try to find a testing center, if possible, that lets them spread out the tests over multiple days to ensure that they can perform as well as possible.
